Hours of operation for the Baker Creek site have been determined. The summer schedule will provide 10 hours of access 6 days a week from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily with the site closed on Wednesdays. The winter schedule will have the site closed on Wednesday and Thursday each week and will be open from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. all other days. To print off a schedule select the Baker Creek Hours of Operation document from the side bar. Schedules will also be available at the site. THESE CONTROLLED HOURS WILL START ON NOVEMBER 15, 2014.
Between November 1st and November 14th an attendant will be on site to hand out the new hours of operation and during this transition period (November 1st to 14th) the site will be open from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. daily.
Residents of Baker Creek and area are invited to a public meeting on Thursday, Oct. 2, 2014 to learn about new operations of the Cariboo Regional District’s Baker Creek refuse transfer station that will start November 1st 2014. The new operation will have an on-site attendant present during all public access hours to ensure waste is disposed of properly, to turn away loads of unacceptable materials and to charge for commercial loads of wood waste.
If you are unable to attend the meeting a link to the hours of operation survey is provided in the side bar. Transitioning from unlimited access to controlled hours of operation will be an adjustment; we encourage you to select schedules that will provide a regular day and time during the week that works for you to access the facility.
Starting November 1st of 2014 the Baker Creek Transfer Station will become controlled. The Share Shed will remain and household recycling bins will be provided in December. The site will be gated and fenced and an attendant will be on site during hours of operation to ensure the site is being used properly. Public consultation to develop hours of operation for the site will start in the fall. To sign up for electronic updates on the site and public meetings or surveys email with “Baker Creek Transfer Station” in the Subject line.
