The Key to the Cariboo Chilcotin is an award to acknowledge the contribution of an individual, group or organization to furthering the ideals of the Cariboo Regional District at a provincial, national or international level as a representative or resident of the Cariboo Chilcotin.

Criteria:

  • The recipient's or recipients' achievement should be linked to the Cariboo Regional District or have been of benefit to the Cariboo Chilcotin and its residents.
  • The recipient must be an individual or group with a high provincial, national and/or international profile.
  • The recipient must have made a provincially, nationally or internationally recognized achievement in sport, entertainment, humanitarian work, tourism/economic development and/or overall promotion of the Cariboo Chilcotin.

The decision to award this honour requires the passing of a resolution with a minimum of two thirds majority. Given the stature and magnitude of this award, it is important the above mentioned criteria be closely followed to maintain the integrity of the program’s intent. Recipients of the Key to the Cariboo Award will be acknowledged on the CRD website.
